Kilohearts create software for music production and sound design in the form of plugins for DAWs. If you are new to digital music production these plugins can be thought of as digital instruments for creating sounds and music, or like the effects pedals you might see a guitarist use.
The company was founded in 2012 and has focused on building an ecosystem of plugins that work together so that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
The Current Team
We are 5 people in Linköping and 2 working remotely from other parts of the world. All mixed up in various employment types varying from owners to hourly consultants and full-time employees.
Our office is in central Linköping. The place is newly renovated to our liking and quite cozy if we may say so.
Kilohearts is fully owned by three working employees. There are no outside stakeholders. This gives us great freedom to choose our own path when moving forward with our products and making our own plans within the company. Our only responsibilities are to ourselves and our customers.
Culture and Hours
We believe that work should be fun! We try to let that guide us in our daily decision making, and we rarely set inflexible deadlines or hard targets.
Balancing your work and personal life can be a challenge, so at Kilohearts we try to make it as easy as possible. We have flexible hours and our working day is roughly 6 to 8 hours. Overtime is exceedingly rare and never compulsory.
Travel and Training Opportunities
Kilohearts like to offer our employees the option to come along on any trips we organize. Commonly trade shows in Germany or in the USA. But other trips and conferences can come up.
Depending on your needs and personal development, Kilohearts will be happy to help you find and participate in suitable training when applicable.
As a full time employee you will enjoy 6 weeks of paid vacation per year.
Some of our colleagues live in other countries and are naturally working remotely at all times. And during the pandemic we have all periodically been working from home. But under normal circumstances we like to see you at the office. If you need to work remotely for shorter periods that’s fine!
Company wide communications will be held in English since some of our colleagues don’t speak Swedish. But most of the office banter is still going to be in Swedish.
