We decided to set up this little mini-event to focus on the use of our software in game audio sound design and take some time to look at how game audio people are using our plugins to enhance and speed up their workflows.
During the week we will be sharing game audio related info and running an exclusive, time-limited, Game Audio Bundle offer. More on that below.
We have timed our Game Audio Week to coincide with AirCon, the online game audio conference arranged by AirWiggles. We are proud Platinum Sponsors of this event, which brings together game audio people from all around the world and all levels of expertise to learn and share valuable industry info.
AirCon consists of 50 live events and 10 AMAs from 87 audio professionals and takes place on airwiggles.com between June 10th and June 14th. It is completely for free, and all live events will be recorded and uploaded to the AirCon Vault later in the year. If you have any interest at all in game audio then we highly recommend that you check it out and, at the very least, pay the AirWiggles website a visit.
You probably won't want to leave.
Kilohearts for Game Audio
Our journey into the world of Game Audio been an interesting and somewhat unexpected one. Our plugins were mostly designed with music production and sound design in mind but it turned out that the Kilohearts Ecosystem of Snapins and modular Snapin Hosts is very well suited to the world of game audio.
We published this blog post recently about why this is the case.
Ironically, Kilohearts was born when our founding members, then working as regular code monkeys, landed the job of creating some audio processing code for a video game... this sparked an obsession with digital signal processing and a subsequent move into plugin development. So, in a way, maybe this return to a marriage with video game development was always meant to be.
The Kilohearts Game Audio Discord Channel
On the occasion of our first Game Audio Week we are opening a new channel on the Kilohearts Discord server dedicated entirely to Game Audio. This will be a place to share tips on using Kilohearts plugins for game audio asset creation as well as discussing and sharing more general game audio related stuff. We will also run the occasional sound design contest for fun and maybe even prizes!
If you're on Discord and into game audio then come and join the community and help it grow.
The Kilohearts Game Audio Bundle
As mentioned, as part of Game Audio Week we have put together an exclusive bundle of some of the most useful plugins for game audio that we make. The Kilohearts Game Audio Bundle consists of Multipass, Snap Heap, Convolver, and Disperser. Individually, they would add up to $226 but you can save over $100 with the bundle, which is available for just $120!
The Kilohearts Game Audio Bundle is available via THIS LINK only.
For those of you who might only want to pick up the individual plugins we are also offering $20 off Multipass, Convolver, and Disperser directly from our site until the end of the week.
What's Next?
We plan to watch and learn during this first Kilohearts Game Audio Week to get an even better idea of how we can support everyone working in the game audio industry. We already have lots of ideas thanks to the openness and insight of the game audio professionals we've already been speaking to. It is our intention to work on improving our products for use in game audio alongside the usual development for music production... with many features being useful for both!
Watch this space for updates and, if you're on our mailing list, make sure you update your preferences to express an interest in game audio so that we include you in any relevant emails we send out.
